How to tie the Jansik Special Knot. The Jansik Special is a strong knot that tests out at very close to 100 percent. It can be tied in lines up to about twenty pound test. Beyond that it gets a bit cumbersome. Tightening down the knot is also a bit of a chore in that you have to pull three directions at the same time. Some people like to hold the hook with pliers and the tag end in their teeth while pulling the standing line with the free hand.

Jansik Special Knot Tying Instructions

• Run at least six inches of line through the eye of fish hook or fishing lure. Bring it around in a circle and run it through again. That makes the first circle or loop.


• Make a second circle, parallel with the first and pass the end of the line through the fishing hook eye a third time. You now have two circles.


• Bend the standing part of the line up and over the two circles and hold together for the tag end to get wrapped around them.
